High School Fall Retreat
October 8-10
The High School Fall Retreat is a weekend get away to train and grow godly young men and women. The guys will go to the mountains and the girls will head to the beach. Whether giggling with the girls or grunting with the guys, this is sure to be a blast! We’ll leave after school on Friday, October 8 and return on Sunday, October 10.
A $10 deposit will reserve your spot. The cost is $75 and the deadline for registration is September 29. A 2010 medical release form is required for this trip. We don’t want anyone left behind!

Men, do you want to win? Do you have a game plan for life? Join us for the Men’s Fraternity Kick-off event on Saturday, September 11, 7- 8:30 AM in the Chapel. Casey Crawford, former Carolina Panthers player and NFL Superbowl XXXVII Champion from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will be our guest speaker. Come meet and hear his story! You'll also hear testimonies from John Hannah, a former NFL lineman and pro Hall of Famer, and Matt Stover, a 16 year veteran in the NFL and kicker for the Baltimore Ravens, who are both members of the Men’s Fraternity. This is a free event. Our very own Dr. Joe B. Brown will be our ‘Coach’ for Training Camp!
Men’s Fraternity is not just a Bible study. It is a weekly experience for men who want to train together to win on the ultimate playing field, LIFE. There is a $15 fee to join Men's Fraternity. The cost covers dues and the weekly Bible study workbook. Learn to develop a game plan for your manhood and train alongside other men, because we are here to WIN – and to God be the glory! A whole new cast of bizarre characters are gearing up to tickle your funny bone; like a “for-real”mad scientist; Tevia, the camel driver; lovable Coach Chris; and many others. Prepare for fantastic worship, energetic praise, awesome videos, cool games, and of course . . . inspiring BIBLE STUDY! 3rd and 4th graders will meet for Sunday School at either 9:15 AM or 10:45 AM, then will go to Clubhouse together.

The Worship Ministry Christmas program will be held on the evening of Sunday December 5. The department is interested in adding some vocalists to our existing teams for this program. If you are willing to participate in this event, please contact Nancy Tucker at nancytucker@hgbc.org or 704-531-5333 to schedule a brief vocal audition. Auditions are open to adults and high school students beginning September 12th after morning services conclude. All auditions must be completed by September 29.

Grab your blanket or lawn chair and come to the grassy area (at the end of the parking lot) after church to enjoy a family picnic on the grounds! Prepared lunches will be available by reservation only.
Two options are available: Chicken and Biscuit lunch for $5 or a Peanut Butter and Jelly lunch for $4. All lunches come with dessert and beverage. You can reserve your meal from August 29 - September 26 at the Welcome Desk in the Worship Center Lobby or online.

Healthy Families Worship Together! The North Worship Ministry invites you to attend “A Night Of Worship” on Sunday October 10th at 6:00pm in the North Campus Worship Center. Don’t forget to invite your neighbors and friends to join you for a night of worship and prayer with your church family.
Each family is encouraged to support this year’s Fall Festival by bringing one bag of candy to place in the collection box as you enter the worship center before the service begins.

This will be a wonderful way for us to get creative and helpful tips for decorating for the season as well as hearing all about what it takes to be a Survivor from radio personality and Survivor China participant, Leslie Nease.
